How We Research DJ Prices

How TorontoDJs.com records, labels and interprets public DJ pricing without pretending unlike packages are directly comparable.

Core rule

We record the provider’s published price and scope as observed, then separate source facts from TorontoDJs.com interpretation. We do not convert the sample into a claimed market average.

Inclusion criteria

Publicly accessible provider or Toronto-focused pricing page.
Price must be stated in Canadian dollars or clearly be a Toronto/GTA offering.
Package/add-on scope must be sufficiently described to identify what the price refers to.
Source URL and verification date are retained.

What we normalize

For comparison tools we track event type, contracted hours, DJ/MC, ceremony audio, separate-room audio, sound system, microphones, lighting, guest scale, overtime, travel/parking, tax and other add-ons. Missing values remain unknown.

What we do not normalize

We do not assign a numeric “quality score,” infer experience from price, estimate hidden discounts, or treat a promotional price as permanent.

Sample bias

Transparent businesses are easier to include, so the dataset cannot represent every Toronto DJ. Premium bespoke providers and DJs who quote privately may be underrepresented.

Update policy

Pricing is rechecked in later releases. If a source removes or changes a public price, the versioned dataset preserves the historical observation while the current-facing page is updated.

Providers or readers can send corrections, changed prices or scope details to todayidid@gmail.com. Advertising does not change dataset inclusion or editorial treatment.
