Toronto Venue DJ Logistics
Load-in, parking, elevators, sound limits, power, curfews and other venue details DJs should confirm before an event.
Ask the venue for the production rules before event week. Access windows and sound restrictions can matter as much as the performance schedule.
- Get the venue contact and load-in instructions.
- Confirm what sound equipment is supplied.
- Ask about curfew, limiter and special-effects rules.
Access and load-in
Downtown venues may have loading docks, freight elevators, timed access, paid parking or long equipment routes. These details affect staffing and setup time.
House AV
Never assume “sound system included” means the system covers every room or includes a DJ input, booth monitor or speech microphone. Request an equipment list and connection details.
Noise and curfew
Restaurants, rooftops, residential-adjacent venues and outdoor spaces may have sound limits or firm end times. DJs should know these before agreeing to production expectations.
Power and effects
Confirm circuits, cable paths and venue policies for haze, cold sparks, uplighting and other effects. Follow venue and fire-safety requirements.
