How Much Does a DJ Cost in Toronto?
For the Toronto wedding DJ packages we checked, published prices currently run from $799 + HST for a shorter reception package to $5,000 for a premium package. Most of the published examples we found fall between about $1,300 and $3,800.

These are published examples, not a guaranteed Toronto market rate. Two DJs can charge very different amounts because their packages include different services, hours and equipment.
What makes a DJ cost more?
Ceremony sound
If the ceremony is in a different room or location, the DJ may need a second sound system, microphones and extra setup time.
MC service
Some DJs include MC duties. Others charge separately or work with a dedicated MC.
Lighting
Basic dance-floor lighting may be included. Uplighting, moving lights and larger lighting setups can cost extra.
More rooms or equipment
Cocktail hour, ceremony and reception in different spaces can mean more speakers, cables and setup.
Venue logistics
Parking, difficult load-in, stairs, elevators, tight setup windows and travel can affect the quote.
What should you check in a DJ quote?
Do not compare quotes by price alone. Make sure the same things are included.
Hours
What time does service start and end? Is setup time included?
Sound system
Are speakers, microphones and backup equipment included?
Ceremony
Does the quote include ceremony music and microphones if you need them?
MC
Will the DJ make announcements, or is a separate MC required?
Lighting
What lighting is actually included? Ask for specifics instead of assuming.
Extra charges
Check overtime, parking, travel, tax, extra rooms and any optional upgrades.
