DJ Portfolio & Demo Strategy
Build a portfolio that proves you can do the specific Toronto DJ work you want.
A portfolio should answer one question: “Can this DJ plausibly do my event or fit my lineup?” Use a small number of strong, targeted examples rather than a giant archive.
Match proof to career track
Nightlife DJs need mixes/sets that demonstrate genre identity, programming and technical control. Wedding/private-event DJs need evidence of broad programming, clean presentation, event professionalism and ideally real event context.
Make demos easy to assess
Use clear titles, track/style context and reasonable length. Put the strongest relevant example first. Do not force a promoter or client to search through dozens of uploads.
Use visuals honestly
Real booth/event photos can show context, but do not imply you headlined venues where you only attended or exaggerate crowd size/role.
Add non-music proof
For event work, testimonials, venue familiarity, planning process, insurance availability, backup systems and professional contact information can matter as much as a mix.
