Playback and control
Pack the devices and media needed to play music plus tested power supplies. If software is essential, make sure the computer is updated and stable before event day—not at load-in.
Monitoring and audio
Headphones, booth monitoring and a reliable path to the main sound system are core. Carry common adapters and know whether you are feeding balanced XLR, booth outputs or a venue interface.
Mobile-event essentials
For mobile work, include speakers or confirmed house sound, stands, microphones, safe extension/power distribution and cable management. Labeling cables speeds setup and teardown.
Backups
Prioritize backups for high-failure-impact items: music access, critical cables, microphone path and playback. The most professional backup is the one you have actually tested.
