Toronto DJ Load-In & Parking Guide
How Toronto DJs should plan equipment arrival, loading access, elevators, downtown parking and teardown before an event.
Treat load-in as part of the performance plan. A short walking distance with speakers, subs, lighting and cases can become a major time and labour issue.
Get an exact route
Ask the venue for the loading address or door, elevator route and room level. “There is an elevator” is not enough if the elevator is small, shared or unavailable during guest arrival.
Downtown parking
For downtown and Entertainment District venues, assume parking needs explicit planning. Ask whether the venue validates, reserves or simply points vendors to public lots.
Ground-floor access
Ground-floor spaces can materially simplify production. The Symes publicly describes vehicle access directly into Grand Symes, while Evergreen publishes a loading bay for CRH Gallery.
Teardown matters too
Ask whether late-night doors, elevators and loading areas remain available through strike. The fastest load-in route may not automatically be the approved teardown route.
