Paranoid Jack is the DJ and production alias of Manny Berenguel, a Toronto artist whose public history begins in the mid-1990s warehouse scene.
His early influences included New York and New Jersey garage, soul, disco and funk before his sound absorbed more techno and filtered house elements.
The profile is useful as another piece of Toronto’s pre-superclub underground history, especially for people interested in the transition from warehouse parties into more established house and tech-house culture.
